Short description

About the Class Discover rich, luminous hues while learning to hand-paint fabric using botanical colors. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll explore simple techniques for applying natural dyes to cloth while creating your own long, narrow runner—perfect for a table or hanging in a window. Working outdoors and inspired by the natural world around us, you’ll gain an introduction to natural dye processes, color layering, and handcrafted design. Leave with a one-of-a-kind textile and the inspiration to continue exploring natural dyes. No experience required. Feel free to bring a bag lunch or snacks and a beverage to enjoy while you work. About your Instructor Lesa Sevin Lesa Sevin has decades of experience working with fibers, textiles, botanical colors, and practicing the arts of textile design and application. Lesa creates decorative arts on textiles, creating illuminating murals and vintage style lingerie pieces. She paints on textiles with plant based colors, pigments, and soy. In addition, Lesa also practices the traditional Japanese rice paste resist printing techniques Tsutsugaki and Katazome.
