Short description
checklist More Details comment Description manage_accounts Instructor Info info FAQ program overview In this six session course, students will learn a unique approach to watercolor, intended to address the frustration that many feel with this challenging medium. The class will focus on strengthening one’s observational skills, while learning a watercolor technique that teaches the artist to see value and color. Throughout the course, we will work on 3 paintings, progressing through simpler to more complex forms. With a mix of demonstrations and individualized instruction, students of all experience levels will develop new skills and have a meaningful creative experience. Our unifying subject will be florals, an endlessly inspiring subject matter for drawing and painting. Their colors and shapes are immediately enticing, but as you sit and paint them, their unique underlying structures reveal themselves, and you uncover a world of detail in the beauty you have always appreciated. This class will work both from life and photos, practicing observational drawing, in addition to watercolor technique. With six class sessions, participants will have the opportunity to develop their skills and build muscle memory with a medium that often feels like it has a mind of its own. Beginning artists and repeat students are welcome. All materials are provided. instructor Overview Hannah Day Hannah Day is a Sonoma County artist who works primarily in the paper arts.
